For over 20 years Mia Nielsen has produced performances and exhibitions where audiences can connect with the art of our time. Animating storefronts, billboards, sidewalks and screens as well as art fairs and traditional galleries, Nielsen creates meaningful cultural experiences for diverse audiences.

As director of Art Toronto, Canada’s Art Fair, she is committed to connecting collectors and the culturally curious with great historic and contemporary art from across Canada.

Her curated projects defined The Drake for over 10 years, bringing dynamic installations, exhibitions and events to all locations and collaborating with artists from across town and around the globe, including Sara Cwynar, Gary Taxali, Judy Chicago, FriendsWithYou, Michael Snow, Wendy White, Curtis Talwst Santiago, Peaches and many more.

She is currently on the curatorial advisory board for the Agnes Etherington Art Centre in Kingston and has previously sat on exhibition and public art juries for the City of Toronto, Nuit Blanche, Toronto Sculpture Garden and the Pan Am Games.

A regular speaker on contemporary art issues, Nielsen has presented for Ontario Association of Art Galleries, Facebook leadership symposium, Future:Proof symposium and more.
